Worked example
What it makes
Three questions from a easier quiz on metric unit conversion, with the answers and worked solutions the quiz shows after checking.
1. Convert 2 L to mL.
Options: 20,000 mL · 2,000 mL · 0.002 mL · 200 mL
Answer: 2,000 mL
1 L = 1,000 mL, so multiply by 1,000: 2 × 1,000 = 2,000 mL.
2. Convert 3 cm to mm.
Options: 300 mm · 0.3 mm · 30 mm · 3 mm
Answer: 30 mm
1 cm = 10 mm, so multiply by 10: 3 × 10 = 30 mm.
3. Convert 20 cm to mm.
Options: 20 mm · 200 mm · 2 mm · 2,000 mm
Answer: 200 mm
1 cm = 10 mm, so multiply by 10: 20 × 10 = 200 mm.

- Litres are written L and millilitres mL.
