What it makes
Three questions from a medium quiz on adding and subtracting fractions and multiplying and dividing fractions and simplifying fractions and comparing fractions and decimals and percentages and multiplication and division and order of operations and negative numbers and linear equations and ratios and area and perimeter and mean, median, mode and range, with the answers and worked solutions the quiz shows after checking.
1. What is 6/8 − 7/16? Give the answer in simplest form.
Options: 19/16 · 7/16 · 5/16 · 3/8
Answer: 5/16
Common denominator 16: 6/8 = 12/16 and 7/16 = 7/16. 12 − 7 = 5, so 5/16.
2. What is 3/8 × 3/5? Give the answer in simplest form.
Options: 1/5 · 9/40 · 5/8 · 6/13
Answer: 9/40
Multiply tops and bottoms: (3 × 3)/(8 × 5) = 9/40.
3. Write 20/25 in simplest form.
Options: 5/4 · 4/5 · 2/5 · 3/5
Answer: 4/5
The greatest common factor of 20 and 25 is 5: 20 ÷ 5 = 4 and 25 ÷ 5 = 5, so 4/5.

- One question per skill gives a quick picture, not a full assessment: follow up a wrong answer with that skill's quiz.
- It doesn't diagnose learning difficulties; if a learner struggles a lot, talk to their teacher.
Questions
About the Maths Diagnostic Test
How are the answers checked?
The questions are computed, not written by AI: each answer is worked out with exact arithmetic and checked again by a separate solver in our tests, and every question shows its worked solution.
What do I do with the result?
Each question names its skill. For any you got wrong, open that skill's quiz generator for practice with worked answers.
