Worked example
What it makes
Three questions from a easier quiz on adding and subtracting fractions and simplifying fractions, with the answers and worked solutions the quiz shows after checking.
1. What is 4/7 + 6/7? Give the answer in simplest form.
Options: -2/7 · 5/7 · 11/7 · 10/7
Answer: 10/7
Same denominator: 4 + 6 = 10, so 10/7.
2. Write 2/6 in simplest form.
Options: 4/3 · 3/1 · 1 · 1/3
Answer: 1/3
The greatest common factor of 2 and 6 is 2: 2 ÷ 2 = 1 and 6 ÷ 2 = 3, so 1/3.
3. What is 5/7 + 5/7? Give the answer in simplest form.
Options: 10/7 · 5/7 · 0 · 9/7
Answer: 10/7
Same denominator: 5 + 5 = 10, so 10/7.

Good to know
What to consider
- Levels are difficulty bands (easier numbers to harder ones), not school grades or a specific curriculum.
- Answers are given in simplest form; a learner who leaves an answer unsimplified will see it marked wrong, with the simplifying step in the solution.
- Each quiz has up to 20 questions; make another for more.
Questions
About the Fractions Quiz Generator
Which fraction skills are covered?
Adding and subtracting (same and different denominators), multiplying and dividing, simplifying, and comparing fractions. Pick any mix.
How do I know the answers are right?
The questions are computed, not written by AI: each answer is worked out with exact arithmetic and checked again by a separate solver in our tests. Every question shows its worked solution after the learner checks their answers.
Can my students use it without an account?
Yes. Publish the Room and share the link: anyone with it can take the quiz, check their answers and read the worked solutions. You need a free account to keep and publish the Room.
