How it's calculated
- Blended CAC = (ad spend + other marketing + sales spend) ÷ all new customers.
- Paid CAC = ad spend ÷ new customers that came from paid ads.
- Paid share = customers from paid ads ÷ all new customers × 100.
- Assumes: Spend and new customers cover the same period.
- Assumes: Which customers count as paid depends on your attribution.
- Assumes: Paid CAC counts ad spend only, so it is lower than the full cost of those customers.

- Spend and customers must cover the same period; long sales cycles blur this.
Questions
About the CAC Calculator
What's the difference between blended and paid CAC?
Blended CAC divides all sales and marketing spend by every new customer, whatever the channel. Paid CAC divides ad spend by the customers that came from ads. Blended is the fuller cost; paid shows whether ads alone are efficient.
