The idea

Beginner sea-kayaking safety starts with listening to your instructor. Learn to read local tides and recognize changing weather, wear a properly fitted life jacket, and stay with the group. Juniper Cove's beginner route follows the sheltered shoreline toward Gull Point and returns to the launch. New paddlers do not cross the open harbor.

An instructor explains local tides to a small group on shore

Tides are part of the lesson: learn to read local conditions with your instructor.
